Napper's Ruins

Nappers Ruins are located on the North side of the Lake and were once a hotel known as the Lake Bonney Hotel which was built for the former workers of the Cobdogla Station. the building consisted od 11 rooms that included a bar and a dining room that could sit 12 people and was often used as a dance room. Interpretive information about the ruin is located at this historic site.

Overland Corner Hotel

Surving floods and ruin, this local icon was originally established in 1959 by the Brand Brothers. Owned by the National trust, this viable building incorporates a museum realting back to the days of the Overlanders. Operational as a good old outback Aussie Pub, this building is a monument to withstanding the test of time. Recapture yesteryear today and learn the truth behind the many ghosts of Overland Corner.

Katarapko Creek National Park

Branching from the Murray River, Katarapko Creek is a great place to explore. Excellent designated camping sites with campfires and toilets available near some sites make Katarapko a great place for a family camping trip or weekend. Various activities such as fishing, swimming, boating as well as bushwalking and bird watching are all popular at Katarapko.

Bonneyview Farm

For those who want a memorable experience, Bonneyview Farm caters especially for that! Enjoy the beauty of Lake Bonney on horseback. Situated at the back of Lake Bonney, Bonneyview Farm owners take couples, families or friends on lake rides, farm rides and muster sheep. Riding lessons are available and safety is a priority, so care is taken in matching riders to suitable horses. Helmets are supplied for each rider.

Country Music Hall of Fame

Dedicated to preserving the history of Australian Country Music, the museum incorporates a huge collection of memorabilia while the landscaped Pioneers Park features the 'world exclusive' Big Guitar with over 160 handprints of renowned country Music artists.

Barmera Heritage Walk

This walk is approximately 4.5km duration and includes a stroll through the foundations of Barmera. Looking back to the early struggles and triumphs of our overlanding heroes.

Loveday Internment Camp

The Loveday Internment Camps, which were set up in 1941, were one of the largest camps in Australia. The camp produced seed, tomatoes, wood, pyrethrum, flowers, pigs, poultry and soap. The internees consisted of Japanese, Italians and Germans. The camp closed in 1946 and many of the buildings were sold off, however there are still remains scattered about Loveday.
